The Queen’s Birthday

Celebrate the Queen's Birthday in regal styleTroop the colour for the Queen’s birthday this year with magnificent flowers that even Her Majesty would be proud of. The 12th June celebrates the Queen’s official birthday and has been a tradition in London since 1820. There is much to see on this very special day, with celebrations on the Mall, guns firing and the RAF flying over Buckingham Palace.

The ceremony begins at St James Park where the Queen greets troops for inspection, then led to Buckingham Palace, where she will await for gun fire. Green Park and the Tower of London will fire the guns after the Queen salutes, and then rejoins the family on the balcony at the Palace to watch the RAF fly past.

To celebrate this day in true patriotic fashion there are some fantastic flower arrangements for you to chose from. Here are just a couple:

White Rose & Green Chrysanthemum Bouquet

This regal arrangement of White Roses and Green Chrysanthemums is an ideal bouquet to have in your home, whilst celebrating the birthday of Her Majesty. They boast English charm and a beautiful scent; you would think they have been arranged especially for her.

Luxurious Passion Rose Bouquet

This is an ideal bouquet to have in any room, whilst marking the birthday of the Queen, with the roses dressed in true style and elegance.  Not only are the aesthetics of the bouquet majestic the fragrances are equally as wondrous.

Coronation Day

Celebrate the Queen's Coronation with some spectacular flowersThe anniversary of the day Queen Elizabeth II was crowned is taking place soon (2nd June), marking the 58th year of the Queen’s reign and honouring one of the longest serving for a British monarch.  The Queen was born third in line for the thrown, after her uncle and her father. After the Queen’s grandfather died, her uncle, Edward took the thrown; however in the same year King Edward abdicated to marry an American socialite. George VI was crowned King, but his health started to decline in 1951 and sadly died in 1952. The news of the King’s death made Elizabeth the Queen of 25 countries.

To celebrate this year’s Coronation and the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, why not fill your home with an abundance of roses and lilies in bold reds and whites in a true patriotic manner.  Here are just a few examples that we think are arranged fit for a Queen.

Red Rose & White Stallion Bouquet

Nothing says elegant and luxurious than this classic bouquet, with the whites of the stallions bouncing of the deep and dramatic reds of the roses, finished with the dressing of green foliage. This is most certainly a magnificent arrangement.

White Oriental Lily Bouquet

This magnificent bouquet will make a stunning feature in any space and will fill the room with wondrous and fresh scents. Lilies are an elegant and majestic flower, ideal for the Queen’s Coronation.

Premium Silk Red Roses

If you want to keep the celebration of the Queen’s Coronation alive, these silk roses will definitely do the job. They are unbelievably realistic and give a sense of luxury, ideal for any English Rose.

Memorial Day flowers

Honour fallen soldiers on Memorial Day with beautiful fresh-cut flowersMemorial Day is a popular federal holiday celebrated on the last Monday of May in the United States. It pays homage to all the men and women who have died in military conflict around the globe, and was first enacted to honour Union soldiers who perished in the American Civil War. After World War I, the day was expanded and made more prolific.

On the day a number of very thoughtful occurrences take place. Volunteers place American flags on graves at National Cemetries and flags are often flown at half-staff for the morning as a sign of respect. Many communities hold local efforts to honour soldiers from their area who have died in war, and may hold a gathering in a bar or park so that residents can pay their respects.

A great many people visit memorials and cementries and place flowers on the graves of soldiers and loved ones. If you're looking to take part in the occasion and would like to lay some Memorial Day flowers, we have a number of thoughtful and specially prepared bouquets that'll let everyone know your position. Perfectly fresh and arranged, they're the ultimate symbol of respect and a perfect way to take part in Memorial Day.

As a family run business, we're used to offering advice and help when you need the right flowers, and Memorial Day is one of those occasions where you just want everything to go right.
