The Queen was born third in line for the thrown, after her uncle and her father. After the Queen’s grandfather died, her uncle, Edward took the thrown; however in the same year King Edward abdicated to marry an American socialite. George VI was crowned King, but his health started to decline in 1951 and sadly died in 1952. The news of the King’s death made Elizabeth the Queen of 25 countries.
